Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is the difference between coaching and therapy/counseling?
Perfect question! Therapy is more past focused – looks backwards and helps heal traumas to create an emotionally healthy place. Coaching is present and future focused. We look forward to future possibilities and take action to move forward.
  • What are some outcomes I can get from Coaching?
Setting better goals and action steps – Life coaching addresses specific goals, issues or challenges, whether personal or professional, examine what the obstacles might be, and help you choose a course of action. Greater self-awareness and discovery Accountability – working with a life coach you are blessed with the best cheerleader yet also challenged with a persistent taskmaster. Clarity – what your life could be and most importantly what you want it to be Learn to engage in being fully present Understanding purpose and passion Increase productivity by helping co-create different systems and structures JUST TO NAME A FEW!
  • What about confidentiality?
Vegas rule – what happens in our sessions stays in our sessions.
  • How long do I need a life coach?
Tricky question – truly depends on YOU. The time frame can vary greatly and depends on a wide range of factors: your goal(s), your commitment and openness to change, your capacity for introspection, your circumstances, how quickly and thoughtfully you complete homework assignments, and other unique factors.
  • What is my coaching style?
First, I am faith based and transformation-oriented. Although change in individuals is often measured on a behavioral basis, real change happens below the surface on a deeper level. Cultivating self-awareness and promoting paradigm shifts can yield huge personal and professional bonuses and deep change. I am also Direct. Honest. Did I mention funny.
  • Why “CHRISTIAN” Life Coaching?
Serving from a Christian standpoint is about aligning God’s calling for me as a coach with the aspirations of the people I get to work with. As a Christian life coach, I utilize faith-based principles and biblical truths to go deeper with my clients than traditional coaching strategies. Spirituality is so important to who we are and our ability to move forward in the face of adversity. If we ignore that, we can’t go as far as God wants to take us.
